L’orangerie - gORSSEL

The HOUSE

On a beautiful forest plot in Gorssel in the east of the Netherlands, we built a new house: 'l Orangerie. The Orangerie is almost entirely made of glass, open-plan, and has many level differences: a raised entrance where you can play pool, a large kitchen-bar with a glass roof and folding doors on both sides leading to two terraces, a raised seating area with a wood stove, and two semi-sunken bedrooms with bathrooms. At the front, you overlook your own forest garden with a natural pond from a large terrace. To the rear, you overlook an estate where you can see deer roaming. The house is completely finished with oak. The black steel kitchen is a special design with an integrated lamp, trays, and a 'lazy susan' for your drinks and dinner.

Next to the house is an unheated natural pond with a 10-meter swimming lane and a helophyte filter with lava stones and yellow iris for water purification. When the temperature rises, the water also heats up quite quickly, reaching about 18 degrees in May. If you're brave enough, you can swim all year round!

The Orangerie is located on the edge of Gorssel, a small village surrounded by forest and heath. The Hanseatic cities of Deventer and Zutphen are just 10 minutes away. The house is on a small road and next to the Pool House. The houses are on their own completely enclosed plots.

• 120 m² in size and suitable for 4 people (2 adults and 3 children or 4 adults and 1 child is also possible, 1 of the rooms has a box bed with a length of 1.75 m, please contact us directly if you would like to book for 5 persons)

• a raised seating area with a projector and a hanging 360 wood stove from Bordelet. The house also has underfloor heating

• fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, fridge, and Sjöstrand coffee machine

• bar annex dining table

• a pool table

• a projector with a large screen for movie nights

• speakers for music

• semi-sunken are 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed (1.80x2.10m), shower, and toilet

• you sleep on Emma mattresses, and the duvets and pillows are anti-allergenic

• large terraces to the east and west

• natural swimming pond 10m long and 1.40m deep

• the house has a washer/dryer

• WiFi via fiber optic

• a heat pump provides hot water

• note:

  • due to the natural pond, this house is less suitable for children who cannot swim yet

  • the pond is natural, so not heated!

  • the house has lots of glass and no curtains. In the bedrooms, the windows can be darkened with blinds

  • no pets are allowed in this house

RATES, AVAILABILITY AND BOOKING

• in low season, the rental price is 195 Euro per night based on 2 persons

• in high season, the rental price is 255 Euro per night based on 2 persons. You’ll find the high season periods on the INFO page

• we ask a surcharge of 25 Euros per person per night for the 3rd and 4th person

• minimum stay during the week is 4 nights (Mon-Fri). Minimum stay during the weekends is 3 nights (Fri-Mon)

• during Summer and Christmas minimum stay is a week (Fri-Fri)

• final cleaning is mandatory and costs 95 Euro

• tourist tax is 1.40 Euro per person per night

• babies up to 1 year old stay for free. Bring your own baby bed

• your stay includes bath, bed, and kitchen linen, unlimited firewood, coffee capsules from Smit & Dorlas, Clipper tea, delicious soap from the Dutch brand Ajen, and the basics (salt, pepper, olive oil, etc).
